Meet the Hatcher's

I've been working on this idea for a while now... maybe a year... how to use my art and creativity and how best to support the causes I really care about...

And then, it seemed like the world was about to explode... refugees, our government... things are such a mess and I hardly know what to say. Except that we are still here and we still have family's to take care of and destinies to fulfill.

So, this week, I gathered my courage and turned off the news for a little while... I finally opened my revamped shop with my pen and ink designs printed on all sorts of things... and 10% of the proceeds are donated to Adopttogther, org

Why Adoption?

I've been passionate about adoption for many years, but at this moment, I'm not in a position to adopt. I am, however, in a position to help others become adoptive parents! So, that's what I've set out to do. It sounds like an insurmountable goal, and who am I to undertake something like this?!

Just as I was battling with the negative voices in my head and summoning my courage to really float this idea into reality, something magical happened.

I posted my idea on Instagram and had barely clicked away from the app when I recieved a message from a woman in Georgia, she asked for a little help in getting her story out there.

I can do that. I can help tell a story. In fact, a story is a pretty good idea right about now!

Christopher, Mason, and Brittany Hatcher

Christopher, Mason, and Brittany Hatcher

So, I'd like you to meet the Hatcher's.

They are currently fund raising so that they can grow their family. Mason, is their biological son (isn't he adorable?), but have found that they are unable to concieve any more children. Adoption, says Brittany, was always a prayer on their hearts and they are stepping out in faith to open up their home, lives, and hearts to another child.

"At this point, we have been fully accepted to a domestic adoption program, and families are actively able to view our profile at this time. We could be selected as adoptive parents any day, by a birth mother at any stage of pregnancy. Therefore, we need to be ready when we are selected."

One of the things I absolutely love about AdoptTogether is their mission to never let finances be the barrier to children and families finding each other. When our families are stronger, when our children are able to grow and thrive in loving, committed families, our society and our future become stronger as well. Who can say no to that!?

You can read more about the Hatcher's and contribute directly to their AdoptTogether profile here. Or, you can do a little shopping and show off your passion for the cause right here. Either way, you are making the world a better place. And the world could use a little bettering these days. Am I right?!

Sometimes we just aren't in a place to contribute with money. I totally get that. Here's something you can do: Share this post on your social media channels... pin the pictures from my shop on your Pinterest boards... it's so valuable to share this story, this cause, with your networks... you never know what will happen.

I can't wait to see what happens for the Hatcher's in the coming months!

This is Not the End,

Amie
