This past weekend was freezing but really fun. It's always fun to meet new women in my neighborhood who are willing to be crafty with me.
I had the opportunity to take a macrame class with Artist and art teacher Monica Galvan Mason. Her work is gorgeous. It was such a treat. We started the morning off with brunch and bloody mary's and lots of chatting. And then, we got to work... we learned a couple different variations of the square knot and a few other moves while we watched Monica work her magic with unbleached cotton rope and a length of dowel.
I always find it interesting to watch how other people approach a new skill. I mean, we all learn and take in information differently. A few of us needed to hear the directions a few times, others needed to watch... Some of us came with a picture in our heads of what we wanted to attempt, others googled images on our phones after we saw what was possible.
But, we all walked away feeling full and accomplished!
