Walking and Talking

I wish I knew how to take a picture of the conversations I had today. In the space of one hour I had two separate conversations with two strangers. I walked away from both feeling energized and inspired.

First, I had been holding onto the phone number of a friends former landlord. I'm still not sure where I am going to move. I called her to see if she had any vacancies. She answered the phone as if we were old friends. By the time I hung up I felt like we were. She gave me the addresses of her open apartments. Her specialty is redoing older buildings and from what Ive seen she's very good at. My favorite apartment is in Arcadia. (Does it make me a snob if I'm reluctant to let go of a Pasadena address?) Anyway, she's going into the hospital tomorrow to have a biopsy of a lump on her lung. Say a prayer for her tonight and my apartment search!

After I hung up, I got into my car and drove down to Starbucks to meet a guy about a possible part-time job. We immediately hit it off. He has an MBA and he owns a dog walking business. He's got a fantastic story.

Both of these people have one thing in common. They LOVE their jobs and they are good at them. This is a very good thing. I want to be around more people like that.

This was all before 10am. Not a bad way to start the day!
