The Broken Places

"The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places."  - Earnest Hemingway

I remember snapping this photo on a trip to New York for my 30th birthday. It's hard to believe that was 5 years ago. I can't seem to find my pictures of ground zero...

I remember standing in the employee cafeteria at the La Jolla Marriott in San Diego as CNN broadcasted the 2nd plane crashing into the twin towers. I went straight to my office, called my mom (also in San Diego) to make sure everyone was where I last left them. I know I'm not the only one who made that call.

On the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, what is the good?

My roommate, Jeanna has a post-it stuck above her desk... on it she's scribbled this quote, "If you want to fight evil - Live."

The good is this: We lived to tell the story. We were broken and we've been made strong in this rebuilding.
